HP had a poor response to its TouchPad, which was designed to compete with Apple’s iPad, the dominant touch-screen tablet on the market. The HP Slate 500, however, gained traction mainly in business markets, likely due to its better connectivity and business-centric features. Now, the new HP Slate 2 hopes to have the same success, with faster components and a slimmer, lighter design.

HP ProBook 4720s Review

HP ProBook 4720s Review

The HP ProBook 4720s is a powerful 17 inch laptop for small business users. Its price is very budget-friendly, but it still offers great performance and a compact and lightweight design. The machine features a 2.26 MHz Intel Core i5 M450 processor . It has 4 GB of RAM, but this is the maximum supported by the machine, so users expecting to upgrade the memory will be disappointed. A 500 GB hard drive is included, with 7,200 rpm speed. It also includes an 8X DVD-RW drive. Somewhat surprising for such an inexpensive model is the inclusion of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 graphics processor which includes 512 MB of RAM. This allows for better graphics and video performance than many budget models, which have only integrated graphics. Still, the graphics processor and performance are nearly on par with desktop replacement models at a lower price and in a much more compact size.
